We lost an election. Not just lost, but LOST. In the race for LA House District 7, our candidate came in 4th freakin' place. Which means no big payday for me. That's 3 months of ball-busting, 20-hour days...and we just barely break even. The stupid SOB refused to reign in his election committee, which was more worried about who was catering the fund-raisers and lets-not-rock-the-boat'ing then actual fund-raising and doing what was necessary to separate our candidate from the pack. To add icing to the cake, on November 17th we're going to have another Republican bigot in the LA House...the Dem that beat us is, unfortunately, a black man, which means in this "enlightened" time that he can not win.

The good news is, the election is almost completely over for us now. Our Sheriff won in a landslide, 76% (we were predicting 75%), 2 of our Police Juror candidates won outright, and the other should have a moderately easy time on the 17th.

Why, oh why, do the LOLspeaking, emotionally unstable, teenagers have to ruin the whole damned Internet? My favorite web-forum & comic, UserFriendly , has now been overrun by the "lol omg [pay attention to me or I'll WHINE] omg lol" crowd. I am now official a proponent of retroactively aborting internet abusing human-larvae (GOD I love that term NOLAwitch). Two freakin' kids on the board, AND HALF THE TLPs...and most of the TLPs consist of whining.

So here I am, finally trying out the LiveJournal thing. At least here it's easier to ignore the whining little freaks.
